Strength Weaknesses Opportunities and Challenges (SWOC)

Strength

1. English is a compulsory language in our university so it has no scarcity of the students.
2. Tutorial periods are available in the time table so it helps to cater to slow learners.
3. Remedial classes can be taken in such periods.
4. Literary Forum, Assignments, presentations,MCQs,etc,.helps to develop LSRW skills.
5. English is the language of the sciences, technologies, competitive exams and it is a Linga-Franca, so it has a scope.

Weaknesses

1. English Literature is an optional subject so it has the problem to find out more students.
2. The students getting an education in our college are from nearby rural areas so they have no competency.
3. The basic four skills are not well developed.
4. The subject is compulsory so classes are overcrowded.

Opportunities

1. It will create self employments to the students if they will start tuition classes with mastery over language or accepted translations job or employments available in call centers or any companies.
2. It will make an energetic personality reading various materials from many courses.
3. It will help to complete online courses that added value to their courses. It plays the part of bridge courses. SWAYAM is a government agency that provides many courses of languages, humanities, sciences, technologies, and many more.

Challenges

1. To climb the ladder of result in English and ELT is a Hercules task.
2. To develop four basic skills.
3. Impossible to increase the number of students in ELT.
